This last weekend, M, Ming, Molly - we headed up to MN for Betty's Birthday ^_^
Left Saturday morning at 8, got to LaX at ~10:40 (for Molly), and headed to MN. Passed more than our share of exits and ended up having to re-map the trip. Finally got to MN ~4...so that was 8 hours of driving. It was highly amusing, though Ming and Molly were probably exasperated and M tired from driving.
We dropped off stuff at Betty's dorm. ^_^ Her roommate was gone for the weekend! So it wasn't awkward. Went to Mall of America for several hours. M and I hunted for Penny Crushers - took us ~2 hours to find every single one in the Mall. In that same time, Ming, Betty, Molly only visited 1-3 stores ^_^
Left the Mall ~ 9 for mini dinner @ White Castle. It was ok..
Then M dropped us at the dorm and Alex came over and yakking was done until 3ish.
Couldn't sleep at 5..got up and ready. Called M and headed out to complete my wishlist of things to see. Went to the Walker Art Sculpture Garden (highly recommended by Mary Lee). We went out in -5 degree weather and took pictures (see Betty link above). Halfway through the garden, the camera stopped working because of the cold. By then, M's toes were frozen. Then, my legs had no feeling whatsoever, I had almost lost the tingly pins and needles.
Shopped a couple grocery stores in Hmongtown for tasties ^_^. Some nava (gelatin in coconut milk& juice)...which I didn't have any of ... :( Then Hmong rice noodles...
We headed back and picked everyone up so they could buy lunch. Then we headed to Little Canada for almond leaves to cure the sick fish. Then left for Madison.
Had a safe trip home ^_^ Didn't get lost...because I didn't navigate...M did.
Mom liked the young ugly fruit (bitter melon) and Dad was happy with Milk Fish. Good thing M remembered to go to a grocery store. And I have 8 crushed pennies ^_^
Now back to real life, real school...oh well ^_^.
